Residential aged care facilities Childers

At Forest View we offer more than just accommodation; we provide a place to live life to the fullest.

Forest View Care prides itself on creating a nurturing and vibrant environment for our residents. Emphasising the importance of respect, dignity, and integrity, our residential aged care facilities in Childers offer more than just accommodation; they provide a place to live life to the fullest within a person-centred community.

Our philosophy

Our approach is centered around the idea that this is not just a place to stay, but a place to live. Our philosophy is clear: this is the residents' home, and we are privileged to work in their space. Our core values of respect, dignity and integrity inform every aspect of our care and service.

A home of comfort and care

Residents at Forest View Care enjoy the privacy and comfort of large single rooms, each with its own ensuite, ensuring a personal and dignified living space. Our facility is designed with multiple courtyards and communal living areas, encouraging social interaction and engagement with the outdoors. Every room has external windows and doors so even those confined to bed have external views.

Our rooms are built to feel like home

Forest View Care is unique in that every resident has their own room (no shared rooms) and each room has an ensuite. This ensures that the personal space, privacy and dignity of each resident is upheld.

Resident rooms have been thoughtfully designed to provide a serene and comfortable environment that feels truly homely. Residents are invited to make their rooms their own with individual touches and the inclusion of items that are important to them.

Activities and engagement

Forest View Care is a hive of activity, offering everything from art and music to physical exercise and social events. Our residential aged care facilities in Childers include a café for meeting with family and friends, dining areas for social meals, and spaces for concerts, karaoke, and themed activities.

We encourage family engagement whether it be family members choosing to spend time at our facility or having our residents go and stay with their family members for whatever length of time they choose. Families are welcome to arrange family BBQs in the courtyard, or to meet with their loved one in the cafe for a special event for just having coffee.

Our Lifestyle Program has a variety of active and passive activities with two activities scheduled every day. That is literally 40+ activities each month and currently monthly Open Days to welcome the community into the facility. We have regular external events such as the Art Exhibition for resident artwork.

Exceptional culinary experiences

Dining at Forest View Care is a highlight for many residents. Our Chef and culinary team craft high-quality, restaurant-style meals, ranging from Lamb Ragout to Sweet and Sour Pulled Pork. Special occasions, like our Valentine's Day Dinner, feature exquisite options such as Confit Chicken or Filet Mignon, ensuring every meal is an experience to look forward to.

Meals are personalised and can be taken in the dining room with others, in the cafe, one of the courtyards or your own room. Individuals can work with the catering team to request specific meals, such as two of our residents having full seafood baskets each Friday (at their cost, but prepared by the kitchen).

The food and dietary auditor was very positive in his comments about the menu and the quality of food, commenting "I would be very happy to live here, just based on the food".

Personalised support and care from our team

We boast a very high staff-to-resident ratio, enabling us to provide exceptional, personalised support. Our staff are trained to offer individualised high and very high-level care, ensuring every resident's needs and preferences are met. This includes a bespoke menu to cater to individual dietary requirements and tastes and personalised treatment plans.

The catering staff ensure the pureed or processed food presented to residents is appealing and separated out to encourage the resident to engage in the meal and enjoy the various tastes on their palate.

Personal individual care for all residents

Specialised, individual care

Our specialised services cater to all residents with adaptations for those with dementia and cognitive impairment, offering innovative ways to support diminished brain activity while building alternative thought processes resulting in huge improvements in their quality of life.

We are also moving into stroke rehabilitation as a result of recruiting a senior registered nurse with lived experience of stroke survival. We are adept at managing high-care needs, ensuring that each resident receives the level of care they require to live comfortably.

It is clear that specialised and individual care is never an inconvenience, it is about understanding the needs of that individual in order to ensure the care provided enhances their quality of life.

Choosing Forest View Care means not just finding a place to stay but discovering a new chapter in life. It's about living in a community that celebrates each day, supports individual growth, and provides a level of care that is tailored to each resident's unique journey.

Many people see Aged Care facilities as 'somewhere to go to die', Forest View is certainly 'somewhere to go to live the next chapter in your life'.
